Clinical Test Expectation – Larazotide – 50MG – Human Subjects : Assists with Celiac Disease (CeD) and Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD)
Strength – 50MG per vial
Introduction.
Larazotide is a synthetic peptide derived from an enterotoxin found in bacteria. It acts by modulating intestinal permeability. In conditions like celiac disease and inflammatory bowel disease, there is increased intestinal permeability, often referred to as “leaky gut,” which allows unwanted substances to pass through the intestinal barrier. Larazotide aims to restore the normal functioning of tight junctions, which are specialized protein complexes that regulate the permeability of the intestinal lining. Larazotide is an altered, synthetic version of the cholera toxin. Research shows that it can modulate tight junctions, which allows it to alter intestinal permeability. In other words, larazotide helps to prevent the gut from leaking, a phenomenon that is thought to contribute to conditions like inflammatory bowel disease and celiac disease.
